At Pickles we believe in vaccinating your dog, that's why we include it in your membership. Vaccinations help protect your furry friend against serious, potentially fatal diseases. We recommend the following:

  • Distemper

  • Infectious Hepatitis

  • Parvovirus

  • Leptospirosis

We always take a personalised approach with vaccination, so we may also recommend vaccination against kennel cough, depending on individual circumstances and lifestyle.

If you plan on travelling abroad with your dog, they likely need to be vaccinated against rabies - the UK is a rabies-free country, so this vaccine is not advised if your dog is not travelling.

For a puppy, we normally give two sets of vaccines 4 weeks apart as their first course, followed by a booster vaccination every 12 months to maintain their body's immunity. You can read more about puppies and vaccinations here.

Adult dogs will need the leptospirosis vaccine every 12 months, and the DHP vaccine (covering against distemper, hepatitis and parvovirus) once every 3 years.
